This is not the statue I am speaking of, nor is it lighted.

In case the title misleads you…. no, we are not going to sell you what I am sure would be a VERY amazing LDG statue that lights up for $150, well, unless you want us to. However today, when you listen to the show, you will find out who is hoping you will buy their $150 light up statue. I personally think there has been enough of this $150 BS, but obviously not all of the game developers agree with me. Ah, the bane of our existence, the slow news week….. Lots of fun covered today on the show, so much so that we went over by ten minutes, but at this point, I am positive that you are so addicted to our voices, that if the show were six hours long, you would be glued to the whole thing. Or, at the very least, you could use it to put yourself out of your misery! E3 is coming soon, and it has caused every major news maker to pull in all of their info to get ready to explode on the E3 scene. As always, we discussed some great stories, some amazing ideas, and brought you, the listeners into the show with us by talking about you, and telling the world what you had to say. We of course hope you enjoy listening to the show as much as we enjoyed making it for you.

About last week’s Podcast

SteadiestShark says:

Pretty good episode, I hadn’t really looked into TSW until after you guys talked about it in detail.

Also, I can empathise with BloodEagle with regards to games feeling kinda dull compared to Guild Wars 2, however I still tried to fill the void by playing Dragon Age 2 – and boy is that game uninspired and overall pretty darned boring. Granted I’ve “only” sunk in around 8 hours, however I really don’t see it magically becoming a wild ride any time soon.

iggyfh says:

I honestly never really paid attention to all the gaming gossip on the internet prior to Mass Effect 3, and I apparently liked Dragon Age 2 more than the general consensus. For me, I don’t like hearing too much about a game before I play it because I like to see it as it comes and be surprised.

About the Bioware Layoffs

gameshoes says:

Bioware’s screwed. That is all.

Aj b33m3R says:

It’s sad all those people got laid off but that is the nature of the business. Most if not all will find new employment elsewhere if they are any good at what they do. Not sure what is wrong with the game. I don’t play it. Maybe people don’t have time or patience for the MMORPG skinner box any more? It’s certainly one of the reasons I stay away from them. Once you’ve done one retrieval quest in a game you’ve pretty much done all retrieval quests in any game. It’s the same thing over and over with a different atmosphere. Once you’re done smelling the roses there’s not much left that you haven’t experienced before.

From Email:

Hey LDG crew, Michel here, I have bad news:

An ancient and terrifying Evil fiend that long slept beneath the earth has awoken.

You have to hum a video game theme song in order to lull him back to sleep.

Shout Outs

Chaelura discussed a question/poll that will be coming up on her blog.

Galvion stated that Counter Strike: Global Offensive and Torchlight 2 beta footage will be up on our site soon.

We closed by listing all of the ways you can get ahold of us, which can be found here with the wish that you join us next week.

  1. gameshoes says:

Buying Half-life for cheap reminded me when I bought Age of Empires III + 2 expansions for $0.79 from the Microsoft online store. Yes, 79 cents was what I paid.
I’ve also been curious, why do you guys censor profanity? Many of the games you talk about are rated T or M, so wouldn’t the target audience be mature enough to handle the profanity?

  2. BloodEagle says:

Multiple reasons actually. We stay censored so that more people, including the gaming youth, will be allowed to listen to us, as well as so we can keep our clean rating on iTunes. However, there may be a a way to hear us in all of our uncensored glory coming shortly.
